Individual Coaching

You've probably heard people talking about coaching in the workplace. You might have even received some coaching in the past, or you might have used coaching to improve your or someone else’s performance, even if you didn't actually describe it as "coaching" at the time. Coaching is a useful way of developing people's skills and abilities, and boosting performance. It can also help deal with issues and challenges before they become major problems.

Coaching is unlocking a person's potential to maximise their own performance. It is helping them to learn rather than teaching them.” He describes the ‘coaching equation’ of an individual’s performance being their potential minus interference, with interference being anything that gets in our way. “When I first learnt of the Coaching I was sceptical to say the least – another exercise that would take time I did not have. I was not enthusiastic or hopeful of the results.

Now, I would say it is the best thing that has happened to me this year – it has enabled me to step back and actually reflect on how things are and how I could improve them by taking more accountability for “getting things done” and not taking the “ it is impossible” responses as a reason for living with how things are.

It is amazing how much you can achieve with a positive attitude, and having the time to reflect on how to get the best out of your team whilst still leading from the front. A few simple hints and tips have proved amazingly helpful and I am so very grateful for this.

Enigma have a real insight and understanding with a quiet relentlessness to move you forward – my only regret is that this did not come sooner.”
